Game of Thrones fans who attended the IMAX premiere of two remastered episodes from Season 4 were treated to a special teaser trailer for Season 5. But luckily for the age of the Internet, the video was released thereafter, giving the world a special preview of what’s to come this spring. Could Westeros finally gain the hero it deserves? Check out the full trailer and screenshots after the break.
The pieces laid out in the trailer are definitely setting in motion for what could set Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) on her path to finally head toward King’s Landing to take the Iron Throne. She’s only talked about it for the last four seasons, and hopefully we’ll see her at least make it across The Narrow Sea. A meeting between two of the biggest powerhouse players on the show, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Daernerys, who have never met before, would be monumental.
On the other side of the coin, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) continues to brood over her sad story of a life. She seeks vengeance over her lost father Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance), however she’ll also need to watch her back closely as the Sand Snakes of Dorne are looking to claim their own justice over the loss of their bastard father Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal).
Then we see Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) who is briefly shown, who we know has crossed The Narrow Sea away from King’s Landing. She was given a coin from Jaqen H’ghar, the faceless man, who told her to seek refuge and help across The Narrow Sea if needed. So we’ll see where this path takes young Stark. Maybe she’ll meet up with Tyrion or Daenerys too?
And then we have Jon Snow (Kit Harington) who is still concerned about winter and Wildings. Other characters pop up such as Melisandre, Jorah Mormont, Brienne of Tarth, among others. Aside from the key plot Lord Varys teasing Tyrion to meet Daenerys, there isn’t much more we can assume will happen other than Ramsay Bolton continuing to be a little creep.
